“My service in Vietnam shaped me into the person I am today. I look forward to sharing the impact the battlefield had on me and how I overcame struggles to catch my happiness.”

Barry Rice

As an orphan, divorcee, and veteran who was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Rice had every reason to give up on achieving his dreams. After decades of making excuses instead of progress, Barry had a life-changing moment on a Florida beach. There, he realized the Power and Blessings beyond each sunrise, as well as the myriad of opportunities he had been neglecting.

His speech will feature elements from his restorative and motivating new book, where Barry reveals the three qualities you must harness in order to define and reach your most joyous and abundant life.

Barry Rice is a retired businessman and former sales and marketing executive. After a year of college and a two-year stint as a professional water skier at Florida’s Cypress Gardens, he served as an infantry company commander in Vietnam. Now, he has dedicated himself to sharing his experience with faith as a veteran and the lessons he has learned around taking responsibility for outcomes. He is a former 7-year leader of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 240 in Tennessee and a current member of the organization’s National Finance Committee.
